Ep5 - Seven Springs Vineyard

About a decade ago when my brother Terry and I were writing about wine on our wine blog called "Two Wine Brothers" we met Tim Pearson, a UK-based winery entrepreneur who had just launched Seven Springs Vineyard in South Africa. We were the lucky recipients of one of his very first wines (actually the first people in the US to taste it), a gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc -- this wine is still one of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs!

Tim and Vaughn Pearson (and new grandbaby)

My Guest for episode 5 is Tim Pearson the owner of Seven Springs Vineyard, a winery located in Hermanus, South Africa.

Tim started his own commercial cleaning business from scratch, called goldcrestcleaning.com in the United Kingdom in 1993. Growing his business to employ 250 people has allowed him and his wife, Vaughan, to indulge in their passion to establish a vineyard from scratch in South Africa.

In 2006 they purchased 30 acres of land near the seaside town of Hermanus planting vines in 2007 and 2008. Hence Seven Springs Vineyard was born and they entered the wine world.

Seven Springs Vineyard is a premium wine producer, situated in the seaside town of Hermanus in the picturesque Western Cape, South Africa. The vineyard is nestled between two mountain ranges and the nearby ocean influence and shale soils gives their vines the potential to produce exceptional grapes from north and south facing vineyards. Tim grows Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Pinot Noir.

Attention California Wine Importers: Seven Springs Vineyard's USA label "Over the Mountain" is looking for a home in California. Please contact Tim Pearson via their website to learn more.
